About Us

The International Journal for Indian and East Asian Studies (IJIEAS) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, and multicultural academic journal jointly initiated by scholars from Jawaharlal Nehru University and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. The journal serves as a dynamic intellectual platform for researchers, academicians, and scholars from diverse disciplines, cultures, and regions to engage in critical dialogue and contribute to a deeper understanding of India and East Asia.

In an era marked by the growing global significance of East Asia, the region has emerged as a major centre of economic innovation, political influence, and cultural transformation. Countries such as South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam have established themselves as key actors in shaping contemporary global trends across commerce, technology, diplomacy, and popular culture. This evolving landscape has generated renewed scholarly interest in the histories, religions, societies, political systems, and economic practices of the region.

IJIEAS aims to foster interdisciplinary and comparative research that explores the intersections between Indian and East Asian studies. By encouraging innovative scholarship and cross-cultural perspectives, the journal seeks to advance academic discourse and promote a nuanced understanding of the historical and contemporary connections between these regions.

The journal welcomes original research articles, critical essays, and interdisciplinary studies that contribute to the expanding field of Indian and East Asian studies, while creating meaningful academic exchanges across borders and disciplines.
